Schedule of Courses 2006 at Dhamma Setu

PAGODA Construction has begun

The Vipassana Meditation Centre has begun to build Meditation cells for Secluded Meditation. During this construction period we will do our best to keep to the present Course Schedule & minimize distractions for Course participants.

Please note that a certain amount of disturbances and inconveniences, such as construction noise will be unavoidable during retreats. Construction is expected to be in June 2006.

All of the courses below will be conducted by assistant teachers of Shri S.N Goenka using audio & video tapes of Sri Goenkaji's instructions and dicourses.

All the 10 day courses begin in the evening of the arrival date and end early morning of the departure date.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Prior to applying for a 10 day course we require applicants to read the Code of Discipline
Fully complete the Application form and submit
Once Registration is accepted, we require CONFIRMATION of attendance from the Applicant

Note
Vipassana Courses are taught in 3 languages, viz. English, Tamil and Hindi. All students will hear daily meditation instructions in all three languages. The Evening discourse will be heared separately.

Old Students Short Courses (1-3 Days) are for any Students who had - 10-day course with Guriji Shri S.N Goenkaji's or his Assistant teachers.

One day Courses are from 9 AM to 5 PM.

3 day Courses begin at 7 PM on the first day and end at 5 PM on the last day.

Satipatthana Sutta Courses have the same time table and discipline as 10 day course. The difference is that in the taped evening discourses the Satipatthana sutta is carefully examined. This is the principal text in which the technique of Vipassana is systematically explained. These courses are open to serious old students who have - at least three 10-day courses, have not been practicing any other meditation techniques. Since last 10-day course, have been practicing this technique of Vipassana for at least one year, and who are trying to maintain the five Precepts in their daily lives.

Children's Courses are designed for Childrens 8 to 12 years of age, preferably accompanied by an adult meditator of this tradition.
